While traveling in Italy with my family over the 2015-2016 New Year, we visited the beautiful city of Venezia. I took hundred of photos, and I fell in love with a few of my photos from Venice. Shortly after arriving home, I picked two photos from my collection to paint on canvas. The colors of the architecture in contrast with the canal’s water had me taking on this challenge.
There is much detail in the original photo I took. I knew that I needed to include as much detail as possible in my painting in order to do it justice. While this piece is not huge in size, like some of my other works, it took the most time to complete because of the detail aspect.
