I was inspired by the color of my mothers vase and the deep amethyst color of the fabric surrounding my set-up.The way the silk scarf seemed to spiral upward to meet the orchids as they spiraled downward around the vase gives the arrangement a sense of slow motion movement in action. The stars of the show are the Orchids arching over the uppermost portion of the composition.
