Between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges there is a park that includes a former Two Civil-War era structures, the Tobacco Warehouse and Empire Stores, are also located on the site. At the time of this painting, the Tobacco Warehouse, now Saint Ann’s Warehouse Theater, lacked a roof, and was used for outdoor concerts and similar events.
