Photo Realistic Paintings

Artist Statement
My paintings are about staging an alternate reality, the illusion of verisimilitude on the painted surface, filtered so that it expresses my unique vision. Though my paintings may appear photoreal my goal is not to reproduce or document faithfully what I see one hundred percent, but also to create the illusion of depth and sense of presence not found in photographs. Many of my paintings are about the relationship of light with reflective and transparent surfaces and my journey to understand those qualities and convey my sense of wonder and intrigue over them. In all of my paintings the subject matter is a springboard and a means to explore my ability to communicate something unique to the viewer. I use colors and composition intuitively with the intent of imbuing my paintings with emotion, mood and mystery. Throughout, I try to remain open to new ideas as the painting unfolds

Amazing work, some of the best I have seen.
Hey, I just fell in love with your paintings and I think that maybe I could help you by giving you some photos that you could copy. I like playing with water and I realized that you’re trully amazing. It would be my honor to help you out
Jason- your work truly is amazing. Not only is your attention to the detail of the reflections astounding, but you have a really good sense of design/composition, which is actually more rare than the ability to paint such detail. I’m amazed that you can do these paintings using acrylic; I’d love to know how you manage to get such subtle blending. Are you using a medium such as Golden glazing medium?
Great work, Jason. Keep it up.
Wow! You’re work is amazing~
Wow! Excellent work! :-)
His work is really great, am even looking if his works can be bought.
One thing though, it’s acrylic paint, not oil paint, he states it clearly in his blog.

As someone with no talent at all,i am constantly amazed by people like this who
have such amazing abilities.
Amazing art. One would not think they were oil paintings. They appear more like photographs.
